COVID-19 Safety Measures

11/20/2020 COVID-19 Update:

The Bank of Greene County has become aware of a positive COVID-19 case in our Greenport Branch.  Effective immediately on Friday, November 20, the Greenport and Hudson Branch have temporarily closed.  For the safety of our customers and employees, both Branches will be deep-cleaned over the weekend, and the Greenport Branch will reopen for drive-thru service only on Monday, November 23.  The Bank is working closely with local Department of Health Authorities regarding this situation.

All Bank locations continue to follow existing safety measures including clear shields for desks and teller lines, hand sanitizing stations, required face coverings, and social distancing markers.  Other Branches and office locations have not been impacted.

The Bank continues to encourage customers to use no-contact alternatives such as Online Banking and our Mobile App, drive-through lanes, ATMs, Telebank, and our Customer Service Center.


Our branch lobbies and bank locations are open, with enhanced safety measures.  Please note that at this time, the Hudson Branch is closed, and the Greenport Branch is drive-thru only.  For no-contact alternatives, you can use our drive-up windows, ATMs, night drops, and digital banking tools, including online banking and our mobile app.

Masks/face coverings are required – we require customers to wear masks or face coverings while in our bank locations.  You may be asked to remove your face covering for identification.

Protective shields – we have clear plastic shields at our teller counters for additional safety protection.

Practice social distancing – please stand at least 6 feet away from other customers while in the branch.  To help, we have placed instructive signs at the entrance.

Sanitizing surfaces – all high-touch customer surfaces are continuously sanitized.
